In this workshop, the Center for Reproducible Science of the University of Zurich will introduce the participants to writing reproducible manuscripts and analyses using R and Quarto. Such dynamic reporting tools help researchers make their analyses transparent, shareable, and reproducible, and avoid error-prone and laborious copying and pasting of numbers, tables, figures, and other results.

Workshop content

The workshop will begin with an introductory presentation on the purpose and fundamentals of dynamic reporting. The second part is hands-on, and participants are supported to follow along on their own computers and produce a minimally viable reproducible report. Finally, we will demonstrate an advanced publishing workflow using version control and containerization.

Who should attend?

Students and researchers with experience in quantitative data analysis.

When and where?

Thursday, May 15, 2025, 14:15 - 17:00 at the University of Zurich (Room RAA-E-30, Rämistrasse 59, Zürich) or online in Zoom (a link will be provided by email upon registration).

Participants can either join virtually (introduction only) or on-site (full workshop).

The on-site workshop is limited to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. More information will be sent to participants via email before the event. The workshop will be held by Fabio Molo, Gorka Fraga-Gonzalez, and Samuel Pawel from the Center for Reproducible Science and is supported by the Swiss Reproducibility Network (SwissRN) Academy.
