The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) - EU node platform (https://open-science-cloud.ec.europa.eu/) is a European platform and information gateway to explore, engage, and enrich your research collaborations.
EOSC-EU node services for research collaboration
It offers a number of interesting services:
- An easy login (simply select your Swiss university and log in with your Switch edu-ID) will take you to a user dashboard
- The main services include
- File sync and share (for automatic file syncing and secure sharing across locations and teams. Up to 50 Gbs of remote storage )
- Interactive notebooks (access to Jupyter notebooks, Rstudio, Octave and others)
- Large file transfer (secure transfer of large files)
- Virtual machines (you can select small, medium and large environments, including GPU )
- Cloud container platform (to deploy your software containers)
- Bulk data transfer (it can extend the VM services with high efficiency data transfer protocols for very large datasets)
- It uses a system of credits (with no monetary value) that are provided free of charge by the European Commission when you log in for the first time. They are automatically renewed every 3 months.
- All services are EU GDPR compliant
- You can create your own workflows and tools and easily share them with any other researcher or research group in Europe
