Want to learn how to increase the visibility, reuse and impact of your research? We created an interactive training that will step you through the aspects of Research Data Management (RDM), based on the FAIR principles (to make data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable).
In a series of five workshops we’ll show you how you can manage your research data, to apply the FAIR principles and know how to include them in your data management routines.
Workshop 1: What is FAIR RDM and why should we use it? (beginner level)
- Understand the relation between FAIR, Open Data and Research Data Management
Workshop 2: Introduction to RDM and Data Management Plans (DMP) (beginner level)
- Know what the relevance is of an DMP and how to create one
Workshop 3: Getting started with putting FAIR RDM into practice (beginner level)
- Outline the relevance and role of metadata and file formats
Workshop 4: A deeper dive into FAIR RDM part 1 (intermediate level)
- Know how to apply persistent identifiers, trusted repositories and “semantic artefacts”
Workshop 5: A deeper dive into FAIR RDM part 2 (intermediate level)
- Focus on data discovery, intellectual property, copyright, licensing and GDPR
Throughout and between the workshops, you will apply your new knowledge and skills to a Use Case that is relevant to your specific domain.
The training will be held in September 2024 and is open to researchers at Dutch Universities of all disciplines and career stages. You can choose to attend online or in person at the DANS office in The Hague.
The training will be delivered by research data experts from DANS and is part of the PATTERN project, where experts from all across Europe work together to create training for various Open Science domains (www.pattern-openresearch.eu)
For more information on the workshops and registration, check out the DANS website!
Deadline for registration is July 30th 2024!
