EVENTS

19 March: Swiss EOSC Coffee Blend 2024

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) aims to develop a ‘Web of FAIR Data and services’ for science in Europe upon which a wide range of value-added services can be built.

Would you like to know, what is happening in respect to FAIR and open data on a national level? Are you interested in learning more about the work of the Swiss National ORD Strategy Council (“Straco”) in order to unlock the full national potential of research data to accelerate discoveries and innovation?

If so, you should not miss our 2024 blend of the SWISS EOSC COFFEE on Tuesday, 19 March 2024 at noon.

With a clear understanding of Open Research Data’s (ORD) pivotal role in achieving scientific excellence, in 2021, Switzerland has crafted an ambitious national strategy, which is spearheaded by the Strategy Council (StraCo), a new governing body in charge of ORD.

In the upcoming edition of the Swiss EOSC Coffee, Madeleine Hamel, senior policy officer for StraCo, in conversation with Anna Fill, scientific advisor at the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) in the unit of International Research and Innovation Programmes will provide insights into the StraCo’s mandate, structure, and ongoing efforts, underscoring its commitment to fostering international connections, community-driven initiatives, and future-driven science. Additionally, potential synergies with EOSC will be discussed. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session, gaining further understanding of StraCo’s activities and objectives and implications for their work and/or institutions.

The Swiss EOSC expert group is looking forward to welcoming you to this 60 minutes online event on Tuesday 19 March at noon. No inscription needed. The event will be held in English.
